Iranian Foreign Minister questions Israel’s ability to confront Palestinian resistance

DUBAI, October 31. /TASS/. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said during a meeting with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani that the Israeli army is incapable of dealing with the Palestinian resistance.
"The foreign minister of our country pointed to the strength of the [Palestinian] resistance and its struggle against the Zionist (meaning Israeli - TASS) army. He also touched upon the inability of this regime to confront the Palestinian resistance forces," the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement published on its official Telegram channel. Abdollahian called for "using the last political opportunities to stop the war." In his opinion, "if the situation spirals out of control, no country will be immune from the consequences."
According to the statement, the Qatari emir pointed out that anti-Israeli demonstrations in various countries, including in the US, indicate that the world views Israel's crimes with disgust. He added that Qatar will continue making efforts to put an end to the war.
Tensions flared up in the Middle East after Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip attacked Israeli territory, killing many Israelis living in the settlements near the border and abducting more than 200 people, including children, women and the elderly. Hamas views its attack as a response to Israeli authorities’ steps against the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount. Israel declared a total blockade of the Gaza Strip and launched bombardments of the enclave and some areas in Lebanon and Syria. Clashes are also reported in the West Bank. On October 27, Israeli Army Spokesperson Daniel Hagari announced the expansion of ground operations in Gaza.
