The AfD politician Gunnar Lindemann, who is controversial in Germany < /u> has been a member of the Berlin House of Representatives since 2016 and gave an interview to the Czech news portal iportal24 on the topics of migration, the Ukraine war and the AfD ban proceedings. In view of the current debate about the AfD, we are publishing the conversation conducted by Roman Blaško verbatim for documentation purposes.

How do you assess the effectiveness of the sanctions against Russia and their impact on the EU economy in general and on the German economy in particular?
The sanctions against the Russian Federation are not having the effect that the federal government intended. On the contrary: the sanctions are damaging the German economy. Many joint venture projects had to be stopped. Exports of German goods to Russia collapsed. This costs jobs in Germany. The arms deliveries to Ukraine cost the German taxpayer many billions of euros. Money that Germany urgently needs. And from a military point of view it is not successful. In addition, Ukraine receives money from the EU, which is largely financed by German taxpayers.
"The war in Ukraine cannot be won militarily unless Europe risks World War III".
Can you comment on the changes to the law on mobilization in Ukraine, which indicate the possibility of forced conscription of citizens who have left the territory of Ukraine? What is the position of the German officials? Should Germany consider deporting men and women of military age who have arrived from Ukraine since the start of the conflict with Russia?
No, Germany is not allowed to force people in Ukraine to do military service.
"People who escaped death at the front must receive protection in Germany as long as the war lasts".
That's why the AfD is calling for a quick diplomatic solution and an immediate ceasefire. So that more young people don't have to die on both sides. Zelensky now wants to send the Ukrainian Volkssturm, the last contingent, to the front. This cannot be in the interests of the people, and it cannot be in the interests of Germany either.
Can you say something about the situation of Ukrainian refugees and other migrants in Germany? Recently, Germans have started to 'vote with their feet' as the number of German citizens moving to other EU countries has increased. Do you think this is related to the growing number of migrants and security concerns?
Migration is a big problem in Germany. In fact, the migration crisis is currently the biggest problem.
"Germany is no longer able to bear the costs".
The asylum accommodation at Berlin Tegel Airport alone for around 7,000 refugees costs around 1.7 million euros per day. That is, every day. And this is just one of many thousands of accommodation providers in Germany. That's why we have to change our policies. The current federal government is not prepared to change the situation. First of all, there are more than 300,000 people in Germany who have to leave the country. However, the government does not deport people. There are also more than a million Syrians, but the war in Syria is over. Here too we need a repatriation program with the Syrian government. I've been to Damascus a few times. The Syrian government would be willing to do this. But the federal government doesn't want that.
Germany alone cannot finance the whole world. Ukrainian refugees also have to return to their homeland after the end of the war. To achieve this, borders must be secured, family reunifications reduced and the asylum magnet abolished.
That means: No more cash benefits for refugees. Only benefits in kind such as accommodation, food and clothing for refugees who do not work.
The security situation in Germany has also deteriorated drastically due to the immigration of Islamists and criminals among the refugees. Here we as the AfD are calling for the immediate expulsion of criminal refugees and dangerous Islamists.
"Anyone who does not comply with German law has lost their right to asylum. This is how the vast majority of the German population now sees it.
And unfortunately more and more bright minds from our people are leaving Germany.
How do you assess the effectiveness of the EU's financial assistance to the Ukrainian army? What do you think about crowdfunding Ukrainian refugees with European citizens' money?
Without military aid for Ukraine, the war would have ended long ago. War has a long history. In fact, to understand the situation, it is necessary to start with Stalin's resettlement. But let's leave that to the historians. With the Maidan Revolution in 2013/2014, the problem began in eastern Ukraine and Crimea, because that is where most ethnic Russians live.
The situation is now completely deadlocked and young people are dying senselessly on both sides. That is why we urgently need an immediate ceasefire at the front and negotiations. The situation in Ukraine can only be resolved through diplomacy.
"Ukrainian refugees must be fairly distributed across Europe and financed by the EU. And when the war is over, return. In addition, refugees who do not go to work should be required to do community service.
How do you comment on Robert Habeck's statement that a legal ban on the emerging AfD is possible?
The Greens and some other parties are losing more and more seats in parliament. The AfD wins many seats in every election. Therefore, this is the last chance for the current government parties Habeck and Co., who want to ban the democratic opposition party AfD in Germany. This points to totalitarian structures between the Greens and the SPD, but also to others who want to ban the AfD. We as the AfD are committed to our basic law. I think Robert Habeck's wet dreams of a ban will remain dreams. A ban on the AfD violates the Basic Law.
