  • Terror risk Ebola: German S4 biolaboratories vulnerable

German S3 and S4 biolaboratories are unprotected against terrorist attacks. Marburg, Ebola and Lassa viruses could be released in the event of a terrorist attack. The US portal LabNews comes to this alarming conclusion Almost all S3 and S4 biolaboratories in the Federal Republic are unprotected against armed terrorist commandos. This is the result of a study by LabNews. The threat of terrorist attacks to S3 biolaboratories is itself a serious security concern, as these laboratories work with dangerous pathogens that could pose a threat to public health if released. • US looking at several options following Alexey Navalny’s death

WASHINGTON, February 16. /TASS/. Washington is considering "a whole number of options" following the death of Russian blogger Alexey Navalny in prison, US President Joe Biden said. "We are looking at a whole number of options," he said when asked, if the US could toughen sanctions against Russia due to Navalny’s death. He said that the US administration doesn’t have information about the causes of Navalny’s death but placed the blame for it on Russia’s leadership. "The answer is we don't know exactly what happened. But there is no doubt that the death of the volunteer was a consequence of something that Putin and his thugs did," he said. The Federal Penitentiary Service’s Directorate for the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region said on February 16 that Navalny had died in penal colony No.3 on February 16. According to the penitentiary authority, Navalny felt sick after a walk and fainted. Medics arrived immediately but their more than 30-minute resuscitation efforts failed. The Public Monitoring Commission of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region said that Navalny had not complained either about his health or about his incarceration conditions. The region’s human rights ombudsperson also said Navalny made no complaints. Meanwhile, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov slammed the West’s statements concerning Navalny’s death as rabid and totally inadmissible, bearing in mind that there is no official information about the cause of his death. • Price of war Calculator: War consumes trillions

Experience from past wars suggests that Ukraine will lose around $120 billion in economic output by 2026 and at the same time the Ukrainian capital stock will fall by almost $1 trillion. Third countries not involved in the war are expected to record GDP losses of around $250 billion, $70 billion of which in the European Union alone. Wars often cause immense economic damage. In theaters of war, the capital stock is destroyed - that is, economic assets such as machines or buildings. At the same time, economic output collapses by an average of around 30 percent and inflation rises by around 15 percentage points over five years. But third countries that are not involved in the war also bear high costs, especially the neighboring countries of the immediate theater of war: Real GDP here falls by an average of 10 percent after five years, while inflation rises by 5 percentage points. Wars have significant negative externalities on neighbors. However, the effects can be positive for countries further away: there are winners and losers from wars in the global economy too. These results are based on a new analysis by researchers at the IfW Kiel and the University of Tübingen, which are published in the Kiel Policy Brief “The Price of War” ( https://www.ifw-kiel.de/de/publikationen/die-kosten-des-krieges-32528/?ADMCMD_simTime=1707886800 ) and methodically in the Kiel Working Paper of the same name (Federle et al., 2024). is well-founded. Part of the publications is an online tool with which hypothetical scenarios can be estimated ad hoc under the assumptions made (Price of War Calculator, PCALC, see below). Take Ukraine, for example – that’s what the war could cost until 2026 Based on past wars, the authors estimate that the Russian invasion will result in a GDP loss in Ukraine of about $120 billion by 2026 and a decline in Ukraine's capital stock by more than $950 billion. At the same time, the economic burden on third countries not involved in the war is also significant, totaling around 250 billion US dollars. Of this, around 70 billion US dollars go to countries in the European Union and around 15-20 billion US dollars to Germany alone. “The calculations are based on the costs of 'typical' interstate wars in the past. Depending on the duration and intensity of the war, less or more serious scenarios are conceivable,” says Jonathan Federle, researcher at IfW Kiel and author of the study. “The spillover effects we calculate to other countries primarily take into account the trade links caused by geographical proximity and the size of the respective economy in which a war breaks out.” Examples of Taiwan and Iran – different intensity of trade integration If an economy is highly integrated globally, such as in Taiwan, the estimates tend to represent the lower end of the expected economic war costs; in this case, the researchers expect global GDP losses of around 2.2 trillion US dollars within five years . For example, if Iran were to become the scene of a war, the cost in lost GDP to the global economy could be as high as $1.7 trillion over five years. Iran is not as heavily involved in world trade due to sanctions, so the external costs estimated by the researchers in this case are probably at the upper end. Moritz Schularick, President of the IfW Kiel and co-author of the study, summarizes the central insights . “The Russian attack on Ukraine has caused enormous economic damage in Ukraine, but also in neighboring countries and in Germany. Overall, the calculations show once again how high the economic value of peace is and how catastrophic a war on one's own soil is in every respect. Military strength and credible deterrence, which make external attacks unlikely, also make sense from an economic perspective.” For the Kiel Policy Brief “The Price of War”: https://www.ifw-kiel.de/de/publikationen/die-kosten-des-krieges-32528/?ADMCMD_simTime=1707886800 Price of War Calculator – PCALC The online Price of War Calculator (PCALC) tool is freely accessible at https://priceofwar.org/ . It makes it possible to estimate the economic impact of a war on the theater of war as well as the economic spillover effects to other countries. The tool is based on the study presented in “The Price of War” (Federle et al., 2024) and thus condenses the historical experiences of the last 150 years. New or hypothetical war scenarios may differ from historical averages in various respects, therefore the calculations can only be considered an estimate.

  • German bankruptcies continue

According to preliminary information from the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the number of regular insolvencies filed in Germany rose by 12.3% in December 2023 compared to the same month last year. In November 2023 it had increased by 18.8% compared to November 2022. Since June 2023, double-digit growth rates have been observed year-on-year. When looking at the results, it should be taken into account that the applications are only included in the statistics after the first decision of the insolvency court. In many cases, the actual date of the insolvency application is almost three months beforehand. The insolvency statistics only reflect business tasks that take place in the course of insolvency proceedings, but not those for other reasons or before acute payment difficulties arise. These and other information must be taken into account when interpreting the insolvency statistics. Number of corporate bankruptcies increased by 19.0% in October 2023 compared to October 2022 In October 2023, the district courts reported 1,481 filed corporate insolvencies according to final results. That was 19.0% more than in October 2022. From January to October 2023, the number of corporate insolvencies rose by 24.1% to 14,751 cases compared to the same period last year. From January to October 2022, however, the number was only slightly above the low level of the comparable period of 2021 (+1.3%), which was characterized by special Corona regulations. Compared to the comparable period of the pre-Corona year 2019, the number of corporate insolvencies from January to October 2023 was 7.7% lower. The local courts put the creditors' claims from the corporate insolvencies reported in October 2023 at just under 1.6 billion euros. In October 2022, the claims were around 0.8 billion euros. Frequency of insolvencies are highest in the transport and warehousing sector Based on 10,000 companies, there were a total of 4.4 corporate bankruptcies in Germany in October 2023. The transport and warehousing sector accounted for the most insolvencies per 10,000 companies, with 8.1 cases. This was followed by other economic services (e.g. temporary employment agencies) with 6.7 cases. 11.7% more consumer bankruptcies in October 2023 than in the same month last year In October 2023 there were 5,631 consumer bankruptcies. The number of consumer bankruptcies increased by 11.7% compared to October 2022. From January to October 2023, consumer bankruptcies rose by 1.3% compared to the same period last year to 55,649 cases.

  • USA changes Ukraine strategy

The new US strategy to support Ukraine is not aimed at regaining control of its lost territories in 2024, but at defending and strengthening its military and economy, the Washington Post reported, citing US sources -Officials. “The Biden administration is still reeling from last year's failed counteroffensive in Ukraine and is working on a new strategy that deemphasizes retaking territory and instead focuses on helping Ukraine do so "To fend off new Russian advances while moving toward a long-term goal of strengthening its own territory's combat power and economy," the newspaper wrote. It says: "The emerging plan represents a drastic change from last year, when the U.S. and allied militaries quickly sent training and sophisticated equipment to Kiev in hopes of quickly pushing back Russian forces. “It's pretty clear that it will be difficult for them to make the same major push on all fronts that they tried last year,” a senior administration official told the newspaper, adding: “Now that's the point "To take a stand." Ukraine wants to maintain its position on the battlefield for now, but "put it on a different path to be much stronger by the end of 2024... and put it on a more sustainable path. According to the article, the US believes that this will be possible with the active support of Ukraine from other countries, including Great Britain and France.

  • “Without military help, the war in Ukraine would have ended long ago”

The AfD politician Gunnar Lindemann, who is controversial in Germany < /u> has been a member of the Berlin House of Representatives since 2016 and gave an interview to the Czech news portal iportal24 on the topics of migration, the Ukraine war and the AfD ban proceedings. In view of the current debate about the AfD, we are publishing the conversation conducted by Roman Blaško verbatim for documentation purposes. How do you assess the effectiveness of the sanctions against Russia and their impact on the EU economy in general and on the German economy in particular? The sanctions against the Russian Federation are not having the effect that the federal government intended. On the contrary: the sanctions are damaging the German economy. Many joint venture projects had to be stopped. Exports of German goods to Russia collapsed. This costs jobs in Germany. The arms deliveries to Ukraine cost the German taxpayer many billions of euros. Money that Germany urgently needs. And from a military point of view it is not successful. In addition, Ukraine receives money from the EU, which is largely financed by German taxpayers. "The war in Ukraine cannot be won militarily unless Europe risks World War III". Can you comment on the changes to the law on mobilization in Ukraine, which indicate the possibility of forced conscription of citizens who have left the territory of Ukraine? What is the position of the German officials? Should Germany consider deporting men and women of military age who have arrived from Ukraine since the start of the conflict with Russia? No, Germany is not allowed to force people in Ukraine to do military service. "People who escaped death at the front must receive protection in Germany as long as the war lasts". That's why the AfD is calling for a quick diplomatic solution and an immediate ceasefire. So that more young people don't have to die on both sides. Zelensky now wants to send the Ukrainian Volkssturm, the last contingent, to the front. This cannot be in the interests of the people, and it cannot be in the interests of Germany either. Can you say something about the situation of Ukrainian refugees and other migrants in Germany? Recently, Germans have started to 'vote with their feet' as the number of German citizens moving to other EU countries has increased. Do you think this is related to the growing number of migrants and security concerns? Migration is a big problem in Germany. In fact, the migration crisis is currently the biggest problem. "Germany is no longer able to bear the costs". The asylum accommodation at Berlin Tegel Airport alone for around 7,000 refugees costs around 1.7 million euros per day. That is, every day. And this is just one of many thousands of accommodation providers in Germany. That's why we have to change our policies. The current federal government is not prepared to change the situation. First of all, there are more than 300,000 people in Germany who have to leave the country. However, the government does not deport people. There are also more than a million Syrians, but the war in Syria is over. Here too we need a repatriation program with the Syrian government. I've been to Damascus a few times. The Syrian government would be willing to do this. But the federal government doesn't want that. Germany alone cannot finance the whole world. Ukrainian refugees also have to return to their homeland after the end of the war. To achieve this, borders must be secured, family reunifications reduced and the asylum magnet abolished. That means: No more cash benefits for refugees. Only benefits in kind such as accommodation, food and clothing for refugees who do not work. The security situation in Germany has also deteriorated drastically due to the immigration of Islamists and criminals among the refugees. Here we as the AfD are calling for the immediate expulsion of criminal refugees and dangerous Islamists. "Anyone who does not comply with German law has lost their right to asylum. This is how the vast majority of the German population now sees it. And unfortunately more and more bright minds from our people are leaving Germany. How do you assess the effectiveness of the EU's financial assistance to the Ukrainian army? What do you think about crowdfunding Ukrainian refugees with European citizens' money? Without military aid for Ukraine, the war would have ended long ago. War has a long history. In fact, to understand the situation, it is necessary to start with Stalin's resettlement. But let's leave that to the historians. With the Maidan Revolution in 2013/2014, the problem began in eastern Ukraine and Crimea, because that is where most ethnic Russians live. The situation is now completely deadlocked and young people are dying senselessly on both sides. That is why we urgently need an immediate ceasefire at the front and negotiations. The situation in Ukraine can only be resolved through diplomacy. "Ukrainian refugees must be fairly distributed across Europe and financed by the EU. And when the war is over, return. In addition, refugees who do not go to work should be required to do community service. How do you comment on Robert Habeck's statement that a legal ban on the emerging AfD is possible? The Greens and some other parties are losing more and more seats in parliament. The AfD wins many seats in every election. Therefore, this is the last chance for the current government parties Habeck and Co., who want to ban the democratic opposition party AfD in Germany. This points to totalitarian structures between the Greens and the SPD, but also to others who want to ban the AfD. We as the AfD are committed to our basic law. I think Robert Habeck's wet dreams of a ban will remain dreams. A ban on the AfD violates the Basic Law. • Encrypted message: Germany's traffic light coalition could collapse in 2024

This is reported by the Czech online news magazine iportal 24, citing AfD member of the Bundestag Eugen Schmidt. The AfD's message about abroad is actually intended to make the CDU ready to talk. «Germany has provided more than 27.8 billion euros since the start of the armed conflict in Ukraine. The money was spent on a comprehensive winter relief program, supporting people fleeing Ukraine, combating war crimes, humanitarian aid and mine clearance. German Finance Minister Christian Lindner (FDP) also said that economic growth in Germany was disappointing, but that the federal government was not going through a crisis. According to Lindner, the traffic light coalition is not in danger. iportal24 continues. The Czech online magazine, however, draws a more differentiated conclusion - and quotes Eugen Schmidt, who is also a member of the Bundestag for the AfD_11100000-0000-0000- 0000-000000000111_Chairman of the German-Central Asia faction in the Bundestag and a member of the Digital Committee. «The Alternative for Germany (AfD) has been against arms deliveries since the beginning of the war. Germany's billions prolong the war, resulting in tens of thousands more deaths. Germany is running on empty: the trains are not running, the mobile phone network is not sufficient. But working people are being pressured so the government can throw billions out the window on ideological projects around the world. Ending the war is in the interests of Germany and Europe. Negotiations are necessary. We reject escalation». With regard to the financing of Ukraine, he said that "Germany adheres to American regulations and in the case If Trump wins the presidential election, he runs the risk of becoming the sole sponsor of the war. A statement made by Schmidt to the foreign press in particular makes people sit up and take notice "It is very likely that the federal government will fall this year. A large majority of Germans want new elections. Schmidt statements in themselves would be negligible. Nobody in Germany assumes that there will be new elections in 2024. However, Schmidt's statements are gaining weight in the current election polls in Saxony. Because there the AfD would be the strongest force with 35 percent, followed by the CDU with 30 percent. All other parties (BSW, SPD and Greens) are each below 10 percent. Schmidt's statement in the Czech Republic could therefore also be a message to the CDU: The majorities for overturning the traffic lights are likely to be given in 2025. In Saxony, this constellation is already at 65 percent. Source(s) iportal24: The federal government will collapse this year, forecast... Website iportal24

  • Successful extraction of green steel from red mud

The production of aluminum produces around 180 million tons of toxic red sludge every year. Scientists at the Max Planck Institute for Iron Research are now showing how green steel can be produced from waste from aluminum production. To do this, they converted the iron oxide contained in the red mud into iron in an electric arc furnace using hydrogen plasma. The highlight: The waste from aluminum production consists of up to 60 percent iron oxide. The Max Planck scientists melt the red mud in an electric arc furnace and simultaneously reduce the iron oxide it contains into iron using a plasma that contains ten percent hydrogen. The conversion, known in technical jargon as plasma reduction, takes just ten minutes, during which the liquid iron separates from the liquid oxides and can then easily be separated. The iron is so pure that it can be processed directly into steel. The remaining metal oxides are no longer corrosive and, when cooled, solidify into a glass-like material that can be used as a filling material in the construction industry, for example. Other research groups have produced iron from red mud using a similar approach using coke, producing highly contaminated iron and large amounts of CO2. With green hydrogen as a reducing agent, these greenhouse gas emissions are avoided. In this way, almost 700 million tons of CO2-free steel could be obtained from the four billion tons of red mud that have accumulated worldwide so far. This corresponds to a good third of the annual steel production worldwide. Demand for steel and aluminum is forecast to increase by up to 60 percent by 2050. However, the conventional production of these metals places considerable strain on the environment. Eight percent of global CO2 emissions come from the steel industry, making it the industry with the largest greenhouse gas emissions. Aluminum production produces around 180 million tons of red mud every year, which is highly corrosive and contains traces of heavy metals such as chromium. In Australia, Brazil and China, among other countries, this waste is, at best, carefully dried and disposed of in gigantic landfills. During heavy rain, the red mud is often washed out of the landfill, and during dry periods it is spread into the environment as dust by the wind. In addition, the highly alkaline red mud attacks the concrete walls of the landfills, so that leaking red mud has already triggered environmental disasters several times, for example in China in 2012 or in Hungary in 2010. And large amounts of red mud are simply disposed of in nature anyway. Original publication: Matic Jovičević-Klug, Isnaldi R. Souza Filho, Hauke Springer, Christian Adam and DierkRaabe: Green steel from red mud through climate-neutral hydrogen plasma reduction, Nature, January 24, 2024, https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-023-06901-z

  • US considers covert operation against Iran

The United States is considering various options to respond to an attack on its base in the Middle East, including the possibility of a covert operation against Iran, Bloomberg reported. According to the news agency, the attack, which killed three US soldiers, would force "a stronger response" from Washington that would go beyond what it did after the start of the Middle East conflict. Among the possible actions, the news agency names “a covert action in which the US would attack Iran.” At the same time, Washington will not announce its participation in this campaign. According to Bloomberg, the US could also “target Iranian officials as well.” Regardless of what Washington does, US President Joe Biden will have to make “one of the most consequential decisions of his presidency”. The news agency said this could lead to a direct confrontation between Washington and Tehran. The White House press office previously released a statement from Biden saying that on January 27, “three U.S. soldiers were killed in an unmanned aerial drone strike” on U.S. forces “stationed in northeastern Jordan, near the Syrian border were killed and many were injured.” According to US Central Command, 34 soldiers were injured and eight of them were evacuated from the country. Later, Jordanian Minister of Government Communications Muhannad Mubaidin denied Biden's statement that US forces had been attacked on the country's territory. He said the Syrian Al-Tanf base near the Jordanian border had been attacked.

  • 10,000 children killed in Gaza

  • Germans contaminated with polyethylene glycol (PEG).

Antibodies can develop against the substance polyethylene glycol (PEG), which is used in cosmetics, food or medicine. These influence the effectiveness of medications. A team of researchers from the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research has now investigated how widespread these antibodies are in German society and how they could influence medical therapies with nanocarriers. A virus enters the body and the immune system begins to work: antibodies develop that fight the infection. At the same time, an immune memory is built up so that antibodies can be quickly made available in the event of a new infection. Surprisingly, antibodies can also form against the relatively simple molecule polyethylene glycol (PEG). In addition to cosmetic products - from creams, perfumes, lotions to lipstick - polyethylene glycol is also used in medicine. It serves as a kind of invisibility cloak against the body's own immune system and thus increases the circulation time of an active ingredient in the blood. "PEG is interesting for us as a way to coat nano drug carriers," says Svenja Morsbach, group leader in Katharina Landfester's working group at the MPI for Polymer research. In this way, the researchers achieve a longer circulation time for the nanometer-sized drug capsules, which in the future will be used, for example, B. could be an important component in novel cancer therapies. In their investigations, the team led by Morsbach and Landfester examined over 500 blood samples from patients that were taken in 2019. “The antibodies formed against PEG attach themselves to the coated nanocarriers and thus destroy the actually desired effect: the nanocarrier becomes visible to the immune system and is removed before it can have its effect,” explains Katharina Landfester, director of the working group. The researchers um Morsbach and Landfester assume that therapies will have to be adapted in the future in order to react to this behavior of the immune system. In their statistical studies of blood samples, they found that PEG antibodies were already detectable in 83% of the samples examined. The concentration of antibodies in the blood correlates inversely with the age of the person examined: the older the person is, the fewer PEG antibodies are present. “We currently assume that this is due to the recently increasing use of PEG in various areas of life and the change in the immune system with age,” says Morsbach. In further investigations, the researchers now want to find out how future therapies could be adapted to compensate for the reduced camouflage of the nanocarriers. “Ideas would be: “For example, whether you can replace PEG or maybe do without it altogether,” says Morsbach. But determining the PEG antibody concentration in a patient's blood and individually adjusting the amount of active ingredient could also represent an alternative. They have published the current results in the renowned journal “Nanoscale Horizons”.

  • German asylum policy costs over 160 billion euros

Germany spent at least 160 billion euros on financing its refugee policy from 2015 to the end of 2023. The ChatGPT-4 AI arrives at this rough estimate. In order to add the costs of refugees from Ukraine to the costs of refugees and asylum from other countries, we must first estimate how many refugees from Ukraine came to Germany and what social benefits they have received or will receive. According to various sources¹²³, around **160,000** people have fled Ukraine to Germany since 2022¹. Depending on your residence permit, you can claim various social benefits, such as citizen's benefit, social assistance, asylum seeker benefits or basic security²³. The amount of these benefits depends on various factors, such as the age, marital status, place of residence and income of the refugees. A precise calculation of the costs for refugees from Ukraine is therefore difficult, but we can make a rough estimate by assuming an average value for monthly benefits per refugee. According to the Federal Statistical Office, the average monthly requirement for social assistance recipients in Germany in 2022 was **1,033 euros**. Taking this value as a reference, we can estimate the annual cost of refugees from Ukraine as follows: $$\text{Annual costs} = \text{Number of refugees} \times \text{Monthly benefits} \times 12$$ $$\text{Annual costs} = 160,000 \times 1,033 \times 12$$ $$\text{Annual costs} \approx 1.98 \text{ billion euros}$$ This estimate does not take into account the costs for accommodation, food, care, integration, health and care for refugees, which are borne by the federal, state and local governments. According to the federal government, the federal government supported the states and municipalities with **3.5 billion euros** in these tasks in 2022⁴. A further **2 billion euros** per year is planned for 2023 and 2024⁵. If we add these costs to the costs of social benefits, we get a higher estimate of the annual costs for refugees from Ukraine: $$\text{Annual Cost} = 1.98 + 3.5 + 2 + 2$$ $$\text{Annual costs} \approx 9.48 \text{ billion euros}$$ To calculate the cumulative cost of refugees from Ukraine from 2022 to 2024, we need to multiply the annual cost by the number of years: $$\text{Cumulative costs} = \text{Annual costs} \times \text{Number of years}$$ $$\text{Cumulative costs} = 9.48 \times 3$$ $$\text{Cumulative costs} \approx 28.44 \text{ billion euros}$$ To add the cumulative costs of refugees from Ukraine to the cumulative costs of refugees and asylum from other countries, we need to add both values: $$\text{Total costs} = \text{Costs for refugees and asylum from other countries} + \text{Costs for refugees from Ukraine}$$ $$\text{Total cost} = 130.75 + 28.44$$ $$\text{Total costs} \approx 159.19 \text{ billion euros}$$ That is the answer to your question. The total costs for refugees and asylum in Germany from 2015 to 2024 are approximately **159.19 billion euros**, with refugees from Ukraine accounting for approximately **28.44 billion euros**. Please note that these figures are only estimates and may change depending on the actual development of refugee numbers, social benefits and integration. Furthermore, they do not take into account the possible positive effects of refugee migration on the economy, society and demographics of Germany. 🇩🇪 Source: Conversation with Bing, January 3, 2024 (1) Asylum: Rules and benefits for Ukrainian refugees. https://www.dw.com/de/asyl-which-rules-and-performances-apply-f%C3%BCr-ukraine-fl%C3%BCchtlinge/a-60961795. • Ukraine's Western arsenal destroyed by drones

Russia's Lancet drones have burned down a significant amount of military equipment supplied by the West to Ukraine, Dmitri Sablin, deputy chairman of the Defense Committee of the State Duma (lower house of parliament) and commander of a drone brigade, told TASS. “Thousands of armored vehicles were burned, particularly by Lancet drones. Almost all Western-made equipment that arrived after the start of the special military operation [in Ukraine] was destroyed,” Sablin said. According to him, the Ukrainian army sees Lancet drone operators as its main target. However, despite attempts to attack drone operators, Kiev forces continue to suffer damage from prowling Lancet munitions. Sablin added that Russian forces also used unmanned aerial vehicles to wipe out Ukrainian ammunition depots and command posts. ТАСС 02.01.2024, 2:19 p.m. MSK

  • BOSCH: End of the combustion engine leads to layoffs

Chairman of the board Stefan Hartung makes no secret to BW24 that this could lead to further savings in BOSCH's human resources department. How big the problems caused by the transformation to e-mobility really are was demonstrated this year by, among others, the world's largest automotive supplier, according to BW24. "At Bosch there were several concerns about drastic job cuts, but the Stuttgart technology group was able to reach agreement with IG Metall in July Dismissal protection until 2027 for the German mobility locations. This agreement initially excludes redundancies for operational reasons, but the Swabian global company still has to save on personnel. In this case, job cuts would have to be implemented through socially acceptable measures. Source: Bosch boss: “End of the combustion engine” leads to savings in personnel (bw24.de)

  • Joe Marsh: "I fear there will be a breakdown of law and order and massive violence"

Neulandrebellen continues to speak out political activists across Europe, as the daily lives of ordinary people become more and more complicated due to the uncontrollable migration processes, the economic crisis and public division. Perhaps most strikingly, nationalist activists and action groups such as Patriotic Alternative are on the rise in some countries. Campaigning across the UK, they are helping people organize community action against the hugely unpopular policy of housing illegal migrants in hotels, student accommodation and disused military bases. One of the most successful cases is a protest campaign in Wales. We spoke to the Welsh nationalist (https://t.me/realwelshnationalist) Joe Marsh, who told us about political and public harassment of activists in the UK, problems facing the British population due to illegal immigration and unrest in Ireland. Mr Marsh, can you tell our listeners a little about yourself and your involvement in political/social activism in the UK? I am an activist with Patriotic Alternative (https://www.patrioticalternative.org.uk/) in Wales and throughout the UK. We are an ethnonationalist group that aims to create communities that can help each other and take action together. We feed the homeless, we distribute leaflets, we hang banners on highways. We draw attention to the discrimination that our people suffer from. I have been involved in nationalism for many years, starting with the BNP. I was also active in the EDL and other groups. The government's attitude towards us is one of pure hatred and persecution of activists. It does not recognize our right to protest and we are constantly harassed. I feel the pressure from the government. I have been arrested three times and not charged. Many people we know have been prosecuted for hate speech and sent to prison for years. One was recently sent to prison for 5 years. Many people have been imprisoned for comments, but this is probably the worst. It's easy to say offensive things on the internet. That's stupid, but certainly not worth 5 years in prison. *Joe Marsh talks about James Costello (Kirkby), who was convicted of "incitement to racial hatred." was sentenced to 5 years in prison for sharing content online. James is another Patriotic Alternative activist and had no criminal record, so the court ruling is seen as part of the political persecution of dissidents. I understand that until recently you were involved in the Stradey Park Hotel's community action against the accommodation of illegal immigrants in Llanelli. What is the situation there now? I was involved in the protests in Llanelli. The Interior Ministry has now given up because the whole city is against it. People camped for 100 days and 30 people were arrested, but they just wouldn't give up. Shortly before the project was announced, a Syrian migrant stabbed many children in strollers in France. People here are very aware of terrorist attacks and crime by some migrants and don't want that. The situation now is that the protesters have left but they are watching. If they try any tricks, the protests will start again. Now there is a lot of resentment towards the owners. I think they will sell and move away once the work is complete. The hotel is currently badly damaged and it will take 6 months to repair it and bring it up to fire safety regulations. *Llanelli residents protested after it was revealed that plans to accommodate 200 unvetted illegal immigrants would result in the closure of the Stradey Park Hotel in the Furnace area of Llanelli in Carmarthenshire and the loss of up to 100 jobs would have. What's happening across the UK? What problems do the locals have with the immigrants? Across the UK we are simply inundated with migrants. I can't say where the main centers are, they are everywhere. There were problems with African and Arab men sexually harassing girls, stalking children, etc., and there were also terrorist attacks and stabbings. There was a riot in Liverpool after a girl was molested by a migrant. The mood is very strong for many normal people. Of all the migrants, people initially had nothing against the Ukrainians, but there are far too many of them and many make fun of them and treat them like a vacation. They even go home and then return. This led to resentment. I'm not sure how unanimous that is, because there are a lot of leftists who want them here, but a lot of working class people don't want that. How do vulnerable groups such as veterans, homeless people and the elderly cope with the consequences when the government diverts financial support to illegal immigrants? Everyone feels the consequences. We have a massive homeless problem and all social housing is given to migrants. Old people are being evicted from their homes and veterans are living on the streets while migrants are being housed in hotels. People are angry. What do you make of the recent tragic events in Dublin, where several people, including three children, were stabbed to death by an Algerian? The Irish people have been protesting peacefully for several years now and have been completely ignored and insulted by their government. People are raped and murdered, and the school attack was the last straw for them. I'm not encouraging rioting, but they know they have no choice. Even now their government wants to take away their freedom of speech. This will make the situation a little worse. The red line was crossed here a long time ago. Our government hates us and wants to replace us. She's also changing our history to include black people, and a lot of people are very angry. There is no political solution, both parties in our system are led by globalists. I fear that if the situation continues like this there will be a breakdown of law and order and massive violence.

  • Xi Jinping's New Year's address

Shortly before the new year, Chinese President Xi Jinping published his 2024 New Year's address via the China Media Group (CMG) and the Internet. https://german.cri.cn/2023/12/31/ ARTI68Gwe53PdcIlU5dCwvxD231231.shtml Good evening everyone! Energy increases after the winter solstice. Another year is coming to an end and a new spring is just around the corner. At this beautiful moment of saying goodbye to the old and welcoming the new, I would like to wish you all the best for the New Year from Beijing. In 2023, we continued our struggles and moved forward despite all the difficulties, finally being able to see the beautiful scenery and acquire abundant achievements after the test of wind and rain. Although we have kept the hardship of this year in mind, we are also full of hope for the future. We have completed this year's journey with robust steps. It was possible to smoothly transition to a new phase in epidemic prevention and control. Our country's economy showed a continuous recovery trend. The high-quality development was also solidly advanced. The modernized industrial system was further optimized, while a series of novel and supporting high-end industries that are intelligent and environmentally friendly quickly stood out. Grain production has achieved a large harvest for 20 consecutive years. The water is even clearer and the mountains are even greener, giving rural revitalization a brand new face. A new chapter has been written in the comprehensive revitalization of Northeast China. The construction of the Xiongan New Area experienced a meteoric rise. The economic belt along the Yangtze River showed its vitality like a major artery, while the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area surfed the waves like a surfer. The Chinese economy has strengthened its resilience and optimized its structure through storms and whipping waves. We also went through this year with strong steps. Tried and tested over many years, the initiative for innovation and the vitality of China's development have suddenly been ignited. The C919 large aircraft was put into commercial operation. A China-made cruise ship completed its test voyage. While the spaceships of the “Shenzhou” series were doing a relay race in space, the deep-sea diver “Fendouzhe” was looking for in the depths of the sea according to its limits. Domestic products and China-chic brands became more and more popular. The new types of mobile phones manufactured in China were so popular that they sold out immediately. Automobiles powered by new energies, lithium batteries and photovoltaic products gave “Made in China” products new highlights...Thank you very much!
